204th Anniversary Of Mayon’s Major Explosion Being Commemorated In Cagsawa Ruins, Albay

Cagsawa Ruins in Daraga, Albay is now commemorating the 204th anniversary of the major explosion of Mayon Volcano in the province of Albay.

Over the past few weeks, Mayon Volcano has been one of the most discussed topics throughout the entire country because of its irregularities and dangerous eruptions.

Mt. Mayon is currently under the alert level 4 indicating that it may explode in weeks or even days after showing lava fountaining and spewing ashes plumes, which already displaced thousands of residents.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has also restricted the public from entering the 9-kilometer danger zone of Mayon Volcano for their own safety.

Recently, the Twitter page “People’s Television” has uploaded the photo of the local officials and personalities of Cagsawa Ruins in Daraga, Albay as they commemorate the 204th-anniversary explosion of Mayon Volcano.

The strongest and deadliest explosion of Mt. Mayon has been recorded on February 1, 1814, which took thousands of lives.
