James Sorbilla, 9-Year-Old Boy Dies While Holding Bible During Fire In Cebu
James Sorbilla, a 9-year-old boy died in a fire while holding a Bible during a fire on their home at Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu.
On Sunday afternoon (January 07, 2017), a young boy died in 8-minute-fire in their residence in Cebu failing to open their locked door during the incident.
The fire investigator Ruffred Amores said that Sorbilla fell asleep at their house after their Church service, but wake up in an inferno.
The firemen said that the fire victim was still holding a Bible when they recovered its body.
Amores also find out that the sibling of James was playing outside, while his other siblings and grandmother were not at home when the fire started.
Benjie, Sorbilla’s uncle was in a town fiesta celebration during the incident, who came home after hearing the bad news.
The authorities said that their initial investigation shows that the fire might be caused by a short-circuit.
The fire quickly spread inside the house due to combustible materials damaging around P15, 000, according to the authorities.
