Rachel Peters Tops Online Voting, Miss Africa Crowned As Miss Universe 2017

The Philippines’ bet Rachel Peters has topped the online voting, while Miss Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned as the Miss Universe 2017.

On Monday (November 27, 2017 – PH Time), Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the South African representative has won the most anticipated 66th Miss Universe pageant, which was held at The AXIS theater at Planet Hollywood casino-resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

Miss Colombia Laura Gonzalez was the runner-up, while Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett was the second runner-up of the international beauty contest.

Miss Africa was the second woman from her country to win the Miss Universe crown. She earned a year-long salary, luxury apartment in New York, and more prizes.

While Miss Philippines’ Rachel Peters has topped the online voting after dominating votes in the social media for Miss Universe 2017.

However, the Filipina beauty queen was not able to make it to the Top 5 although she gave her best, after finishing the Final 10 of the international beauty pageant. She also expressed her gratitude to all Filipinos who supported her.

“I did my best but I guess my best wasn’t good enough. Thank you fellow countrymen. I love Philippines,” said by Rachel Peters.

Filipino people also expressed their admiration for the 26-year-old beauty although she did not make it to the top.
