The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued the latest weather update for Friday, November 17, 2017.

The Low-Pressure Area (LPA) spotted off Mindanao is likely to intensify into a tropical depression within the day according to the state weather bureau.

In an advisory it released earlier, PAGASA noted that the LPA was spotted at the vicinity of Motong, Zamboanga del Norte(7.5N, 122.2E).

Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Visayas and Palawan are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms due to the Low-Pressure Area.

Bicol region, rest of Mindanao and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon are expected to have cloudy skies
with scattered rains and thunderstorms as well.

Regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley will have a partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by Northeast Monsoon while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon are anticipated to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.
