No-Fly Zone For 31st ASEAN Summit Set In Specified Dates And Times
Here are the no-fly zone set to Metro Manila and nearby provinces in preparation for the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
Starting November 09, 2017, the air operations for all types of aircraft in Metro Manila and its nearby provinces will be restricted in strengthening the security for the 31st ASEAN Summit.
On Wednesday (November 08, 2017), the police forces in different areas including Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon will be under their highest security alert status.
The intensified security in those areas was set to secure the safety of world leaders including US President Donald Trump who will attend the summit.
Committee on Security, Peace and Order, Emergency Preparedness, and Response (CSPOEPR) chairman Catalino Cuy who is also an Acting Interior and Local Government Secretary set a No-Fly Zone at specified dates and times, which can be seen below.
Cuy also noted that the no-fly zone was set to ensure the security and safety of ASEAN delegates and asked Filipino people affected by the restrictions to bear with them for the next few days.
“We are covering all the bases to ensure the safety and security of our ASEAN delegates including their mobility and transfer from one place to another. We appeal to all our kababayans and the business community who will be affected by the restrictions, please bear with us in the next few days,” said by Cuy quoted by Manila Bulletin.
