7 Governors Release Official Statement Regarding Their Opposition With PBA Narvasa’s Extension
Seven governors who opposed the extension of PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa’s contact finally issued an official statement.
The governors who voted no to the extension of Narvasa said in the statement that there are some who were releasing misleading information for his continuous stay in his position as Commissioner.
The statement also said that Narvasa’s extension was opposed due to his alleged incompetence and poor performance, leading to consistent drop year on year on PBA Figures.
The officials also explained that they were not removing the PBA Commissioner, and said that they are not only supporting the renewal of Narvasa’s contract as Commissioner.
Narvasa’s contract will expire at the end of the 42nd season and he knew that his term was based on a yearly basis as well as this is contained in the Minutes of the Board Meeting. When Narvasa assumed his position as COO he also knew that it has only a one-year limit.
The official statement also said that Narvasa uses other issues to divert the current situation in order to remove the heat from himself and clinging on his position.
The governors also explained that there might be a point that PBA could not operate anymore through his continued defiance, which affects the majority of the board.
