PAGASA Says Tropical Storm “Saola” To Enter Philippine Area of Responsibility In Next 24 Hours

The state weather bureau Pagasa said that the Tropical Storm “Saola” may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the next 24 hours.

On Wednesday (October 25, 2017), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) says that a tropical storm with an international name “Saola” may enter the country in the next 24 hours and may bring cloudy skies and scattered rain.

The weather forecaster Chris Perez said that Saola was spotted about 1, 405 kilometers east of Southern Luzon and can’t yet directly affect the country.

The tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 80 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 95 kph. The weather disturbance would be locally named “Quedan” after it enters PAR.

Perez also said that Saola could enter PAR by Wednesday afternoon or early Thursday (October 26, 2017).

Palawan, Eastern Visayas, and Mindanao would experience cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the tropical depression.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon could also experience cloudy skies with isolated rains.
