The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Thursday, October 19, 2017, that Typhoon Paolo has maintained its strength as it moves North Northwestward over the Philippine Sea.
In an advisory issued by the state weather bureau at exactly 11:00 a.m., it stated that Bagyong Paolo was last spotted 150 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (10.5°N, 117.6°E).
Typhoon Paolo has maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph and is forecast to move North Northwest at 15 kph.

According to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, Typhoon Paolo was expected to intensify and transform into a super typhoon for the next 48 hours as it moves towards Japan.
Bagyong Paolo is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday (October 22, 2017).
