AFP Chief: Military Troops Searching For Malaysian Terrorist’s Remains After Reportedly Killed In Marawi City

The Philippine military chief said that the military troops are searching for the remains of the top Malaysian terrorist Mahmud Ahmad in Marawi City.

On Thursday (October 19, 2017), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Eduardo Año said that the government troops were already searching for the remains of the Malaysian extremist Mahmud Ahmad after reportedly killed during a gun battle.

Mahmud Ahmad was allegedly the point person of the Islamic State, according to the former hostages. He was also one of the 13 militants got killed by the militaries in a shootout late Wednesday (October 18, 2017).

“One of the rescued hostages revealed that Mahmud was dead and buried last night. We will look for the cadaver,” said by Año quoted by ABS-CBN.

Colonel Romeo Brawner, deputy commander of Joint Task Group Ranao said that the corpse of Ahmad needs to undergo a forensic examination first before giving a confirmation regarding his death.
