Malacañang Palace Confirms US President Donald Trump Will Visit Philippines On November

Malacañang Palace has confirmed that the US President Donald Trump will visit the Philippines for ASEAN Summit in November 2017.

On Saturday (September 30, 2017), Malacañang confirmed that Trump will be visiting Manila for the upcoming Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) East Asian Summit (EAS) in November.

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that the visitation of the US president in the country indicates the improving relationship between Philippines and United States. He also said that Trump would join the other national leaders on upcoming East Asian Summit in Manila.

The countries such as Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, United States and New Zealand are the members of EAS who were also the members of ASEAN. The November summit will be hosted by the Philippines.

Abella was also hoping that the foreign leaders would be pleased by the hospitality of the Filipino people and will have a memorable visit in the country.

“We will let them experience our world-famous Filipino hospitality to make sure they would have good memories of their stay in the Philippines,” said by Abella quoted by Manila Bulletin.

Previously, Mr. Duterte has been invited by Trump to the White House, but the president declined the invitation because of the bloody siege in the beleaguered city of Marawi.

Trump was also set to visit China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam to talk about Pyongyang’s nuclear threat.
