Most Parts Of The Philippines Expected To Experience Rains Due To Low Pressure Areas
PAGASA said that the low pressure areas spotted in the northern and southern part of the country to bring rains in most parts of the Philippines.
On Friday (September 29, 2017), the state weather bureau announced that the two low-pressure areas (LPAs) along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) are expected to bring rains in different parts of the country.
One of the LPAs was located 215 kilometers east-northeast of Infanta Quezon was expected to bring rains and thunderstorms in the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos, Aurora, and Quezon.
While the LPA near Mindanao was located 520 kilometers east-northeast of Surigao City was expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Visayas, Davao region, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos) and the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.
The two weather disturbances could also cause moderate to heavy rains in Metro Manila and other parts of the country probably in the afternoon or evening. While coastal waters in the country were expected to be only slight and moderate.
However, the LPAs have low possibility to become tropical cyclones, according to the weather agency.
