CHR Chairman Chito Gascon’s Compensation, Benefits Exposed After Majority Of Congressmen Approves P1, 000 Budget For CHR in 2018
Chito Gascon’s benefits and compensation as CHR chairman was exposed after the majority of the congressmen approved P1, 000 budget for CHR on 2018.
On Tuesday (September 12, 2017), Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Chairman Chito Gascon has already left the House of the Representatives.
Gascon left the House after the majority of the congressmen voted a P1, 000 budget allocated for the Commission on Human Rights for the year 2018, which was initially proposed of P649.484 million.
House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez reduced the budget to CHR as it contradicts the war on drugs imposed by Duterte administration.
“Ngayon, kung gusto mong protektahan yung rights ng criminal, eh kumuha ka ng budget sa mga criminal. Ganun lang kasimple yun. Bakit ka kukuha ng budget sa gobyerno, eh hindi mo ginagawa yung (trabaho mo),” said by Alvarez quoted by newsfeeder.
Recently, the photo of some government official’s compensation and benefits are now circulating online after it was posted in the social media. One of them is CHR Chairman Chito Gascon.
The compensation and benefits of Gascon were also revealed after the photo shows that the CHR chairman is bound to receive a large amount of cash.
However, some lawmakers have expressed their disagreement with the P1, 000 budget for the commission. Liberal Party representative Sen. Kiko Pangilinan also expressed his disapproval via Tweeter post.
