Young Patient Died After Private Hospital Refused To Accept Them
Another young patient died after turned away by a private hospital for having no money to pay the deposit fee asked by the hospital.
The life of every patient is important and should be highly valued by the hospitals and other medical centers. Hospitals should ensure the safety of their patients, whatever happens, they need to do their job, which is to save lives.
Unfortunately, there are countless private hospitals here in the Philippines who were refusing to accept patients who can’t afford to pay medical fees and pay the deposit. Although refusal to accept patients is now against the law, numerous hospital was still declining to receive poor patients.
Recently, a netizen named Eyah Ortsac has expressed her disappointment against San Lorenzo Hospital in Cavite after her son niece died after a private hospital refused to accept him for they don’t have money to pay the deposit.
Ortsac narrated that her niece was suffering from diarrhea and become dehydrated, which needs an immediate medical attention, so they decided to rush him to the hospital. The nurses were eating ice cream when they arrived.
One of the nurses asked the sister of the netizen if she had money to pay the hospital bills and expenses. A female nurse checked the kid’s condition and told them that the latter was severely dehydrated, but did not give first aid for the patient.
Instead, the hospital personnel gave her a referral to bring the patient to the public hospital. The sister of the Ortsac noticed that the child was not breathing anymore when they are about halfway to the public hospital.
The family of the poor patient expressed their anger and disappointment to the hospital who refused to accept the kid.
The netizens also expressed their anger and sentiments on the private hospitals refusing to accept poor patients who can’t afford to pay.
