President Rodrigo Duterte Assures This To Kian Loyd's Parents During Meeting Yesterday

This is President Rodrigo Duterte told to Kian Loyd’s parents at their meeting yesterday.

The Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte told this to the parents of the slain teenager Kian Loyd Delos Santos during their meeting yesterday at the Malacanang Palace.

According to a previous report, yesterday, August 28, was the date marking the first meeting of President Duterte to the parents of slain teenage boy Kian Loyd Delos Santos at the Malacanang Palace.

That was two days after the burial of Kian Loyd.

And now, according to the report released by the ABS-CBN News, what they talked was still in accordance to the controversial death of the young boy.

Saldy and Lorenzana, the parents, was assured by the president that the investigation over the killing will have no cover-ups and due process will prevail as it will be handled.

Presidential communications office quoted Duterte’s statement to the parents, “Wala akong ano na mag-kapote ng abuso. Hindi trabaho ng Presidente ‘yan. Trabaho namin is proteksyon ng tao.”

The meeting was held at the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang Palace.

Also present during the meeting were Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre, Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Rueda Acosta, and Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption founding chairman Dante Jimenez.

In respond to the assurance of the president, Lorenzana indicated, “Pinangako naman po niya sa amin na sa lalong madaling panahon ay tutulungan niya kaming malutas ang kaso dahil hindi po niya papayagan na kung sino man ang nagkasala ay dapat paparusahan. Alam naman po natin na si Pangulong Duterte ang presidente natin so wala na pong agam-agam na pagtitiwalang buong puso na makakatulong siya na mapadali ang pagresolba ng kaso.”

Kian’s death has drawn a public outrage and a lot of people during his burial mourned for the loss as they believe that Kian was innocent and people cried for justice for his death.
