Duterte To Lead Boodle Fight In Pampanga, Eat Chicken Products Amid Avian Influenza Outbreak
President Rodrigo Duterte will lead the boodle fight where he will also eat chicken, eggs, and fried itik in Pampanga next week.
Previously, the province of Pampanga becomes controversial due to the avian influenza outbreak. The virus was first reported started in a poultry farm in Barangay San Agustin in San Luis, Pampanga.
The Department of Agriculture (DA) clarified that products from the poultry, which are 7-kilometer outside the control area are safe for eating.
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol also urged President Duterte to support the campaign and educate the consumers that the poultry products sold in the market were still safe for human consumption.
On Thursday (August 24, 2017), Piñol said that Mr. Duterte has agreed to visit Pampanga next week for a boodle fight. The president will ear cooked eggs, birds, and chicken to assure the public eating those food products are still safe amid of avian Influenza outbreak.
“On Monday, the President will travel to San Fernando, Pampanga … He will lead us in a boodle fight where we will partake of balut, chicken barbeque, and fried itik,” said by Piñol quoted by GMA.
The Agriculture Secretary also said that the boodle fight event in Pampanga will be an exciting event since it will be led by President Duterte.
