Manny Pacquiao Wants To Be President Of The Philippines, Freddie Roach Says
Coach Freddie Roach has revealed that the Filipino boxing superstar Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao wants to be the next Philippine President.
Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest boxers not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world. Pacman also earned the respect of the Filipino people due to his incredible boxing skills and achievements.
Aside from being a great boxer, he is also a politician and a staunch supporter of the Duterte administration. The Filipino boxing superstar became a senator after winning the May 2016 elections.
Previously, the 38-year-old lawmaker and multiple title holder continue to dream big. Most of his fans and supporters were urging the senator to run for the highest government position in the country, but Manny chooses to remain silent.
Recently, Coach Freddie Roach revealed that Pacman would like to be the next president of the Philippines in four years after the term of President Rodrigo Duterte. Roach also said that Pacquiao should pursue his boxing career to maintain his popularity.
“But he improved his technical side at the same time. That’s why I would like to see him fight again with Horn and retire. But he wants to be president (of the Philippines) and the elections are in four years. So maybe you’ll need to continue boxing to maintain your popularity level,” said by Roach quoted by Definitelyfilipino.
Roach wanted to see the retirement of the Filipino boxing icon after his rematch with the Australian boxer Jeff Horn. He also said that the lifestyle change of Manny has affected his boxing skills particularly his finishing instinct.
Earlier, Top Rank Inc. Bob Arum said in a statement that Pacquiao might run for president in 2022 elections.
