Heartbreaking Conversation Between Ogie Diaz And His Eldest Daughter

The openly gay host/actor Ogie Diaz and his eldest daughter had an exchange of heartbreaking conversation last Father’s Day.

Ogie Diaz has a wife and four kids although he is known for being an openly gay. He was also a comedian show business reporter and talent manager of popular Kapamilya stars including Vice Ganda and the gorgeous Liza Soberano.

The comedian said that he used to date women before realizing that he was attracted to men. He also revealed that he loves his wife Georgette although he is gay.

The actor has also celebrated the Father’s Day and even posted a short story of how he plays the role of being a father to her four daughters. He shared his conversation with his eldest daughter who was asking about the result of her entrance exams.

Diaz told her daughter the truth that she did not pass the examination in his school of choice. He also encouraged her daughter that once, he didn’t also pass the entrance exam. He also explained that if he finished his college he might not have been where he is right now.

He also told his daughter that God has a greater plan for her and he didn’t want to see her crying. Ogie’s daughter answered that she’s not crying because she failed the examination, she’s crying because she’s proud of her dad.

Here’s the full story:

“Daddy, ano’ng result po ng exam ko?” ‘Yun agad ang bungad sa akin ng eldest daughter ko na graduating that time sa elementary, 2015.

Gusto niyang malaman kung nakapasa ba siya sa entrance exams para sa Grade 7 sa isang school.

Ipinabasa ko sa kanya ang mahabang text message sa akin ng admin ng school, at ang huling message: “Did not pass the (–foul word(s) removed–)sment.”

I asked my daughter, “Malungkot ka ba, anak?”

-“Hindi naman, daddy. Gano’n talaga, eh. Okay lang po ‘yon.”

“Anak, ‘wag kang malungkot, ha? Kasi, si daddy, nag-entrance exams noon ng college sa UP, hindi rin ako nakapasa. Kasi, kung nakapasa si daddy, baka tinapos ko ang college ko tapos wala ako sa showbiz, nasa ibang work ako. Baka hindi ko rin na-meet ang mama mo eh di wala rin kayong magkakapatid, di ba? Kaya kapag hindi ibinigay ni God ang gusto mo, ‘wag mong pilitin dahil may mas maganda Siyang plano para sa ‘yo. Look at daddy. High school graduate lang ako, pero kahit paano, may narating naman ang daddy, di ba?”

Pero nakikita ko, lumuluha na ang anak ko.

“Bakit ka umiiyak, anak?”

-“Hindi naman ako uniiyak, daddy, kung hindi ako nakapasa eh. Umiiyak ako kasi sobrang proud lang ako sa ‘yo, daddy!”

Ayun, ako naman ang nagpigil ng luha.”
