A video showing an alleged fake rice went viral.
RICE – A netizen took to the social media a warning to the public regarding an alleged fake rice from abroad.
Recently, a video crossed the social media account of netizen Rafael Furo Franco. The said video hooked the attention of the netizens on the online platform.
In the caption, Franco warned the public about an alleged fake food.
“Fake rice po panoorin nyo baka kayo naman ang mabiktima ingat kayo mga kababayan,” he stated.
In the video, it could be seen that some newly-cooked rice were taken from something that looks like an inner pot of a rice cooker and placed into a Hello Kitty-shaped plate.
It is then brought in front of an electric fan as the netizen wants to show what happens when it cools.
After some time in front of the fan, the man took the rice, placed it in his hands, and began to mold it into the shape of a small ball.
The man said that if it is an ordinary one, it will get crushed and it won’t be molded.
After molding the food into the shape of a mini ball, the man in the video dropped it on the floor.
Surprisingly, upon landing on the floor, the molded food bounced.
According to the man, it is “plastic”. He said that they have eaten it for several weeks already. The man showed the sack and the brand of the alleged fake food.
The video has already been viewed around 1.4 million times on the social media. Lots of netizens also dropped their comment to the post.
A Facebook user advised the man to bring it back to the vendor and to complain to the authorities about it.
One netizen stated in a comment to the post that the rice that should be bought are the ones produced in the Philippines.
