The former vice governor of the province of Abra was shot dead in Marikina Saturday morning.
MARIKINA – The former vice governor of the Abra Province was gunned down in Marikina while the other two were injured on a Saturday morning.

According to a news report from Inquirer, the victim was identified to be Rolando Somera, 62, a resident of Vista Verde, Cainta, Rizal as per Senior Supt. Lorenzo Holanday, Jr., Marikina City police chief.
A report was also submitted by Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula, Eastern Police District director, the victim had just come out from the cockpit around 1:15 a.m. when a masked man together with someone who seems to be a look out, went nearer to him and shot him in close range.
The victim was then rescued by Marikina Rescue Emergency 161 to which they also declared Somera to be dead on the spot.
The two men who is with Somera were Reynaldo de Luna, 46, and Wilfredo Apaloso,59 who got injured and was delivered right away to an undisclosed medical center.
The incident was caught on Closed-Circuit television Camera.
And on the video, the suspects fled away to escape and the investigator of the case checked the CCTV of the barangay which shows that the suspects have used a getaway car.
The motive of the suspects are still to be investigated and also the Marikina police have formed a tasked force to have an immediate arrest and identification of the suspects.
