BREAKING NEWS! Misled Airstrike In Marawi Causes Death Of Several Filipino Soldiers

An airstrike in Marawi had hit an army position causing the untimely death of several Filipino soldiers says official.

AIRSTRIKE – A breaking news about an update in Marawi suddenly popped in when an airstrike from the army had hit its several soldiers in an army position ‘locked in close-range combat with the extremists’.

According to the report of the The Philippine Star, an official had announced  deaths of  several Filipino soldiers in a “friendly fire” due to an airstrike held by the military.

The “friendly fire” was held in a city attacked by the militants as the military troops were struggling to find other Islamic extremists that sparked the battle in between them and the government.

Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla, the military spokesman said that on Thursday, a Marchetti S-211 jet was administering a blast run over the position of the extremists when one of their explosives hit a position of their own man.

Due to the incident, an investigation was conducted.

Report by AB-CBN says that there were actually 10 soldiers and 8 others were wounded because of the misled airstrike according to the statement of Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

Lorenzana said in his speech in an events in Mandaluyong, “”A group of our own army men were killed by our own airstrike — 10 killed and 8 wounded. It’s sad, but sometimes that happens.”

He even further stated, “We are still trying to investigate what happened… We will come up with a report, hindi pa namin alam e.”

Dead soldiers are reported to come from the 44th Infantry Batallion and 15th Infrantry Batallion, to which was unintentionally hit during the noontime on Wednesday.

However, Malacañang released a report on Wednesday morning that 21 was killed in action and there 72 got wounded on the ongoing battle amid the government and the terror group Maute.

The said violence Marawi sparked last Tuesday which also made the president to declare Martial Law in the entirety of Mindanao.
