7 Violators Of Newly Implemented Laws Has Been Arrested By LTO

The Land Transportation Office (LTO-7) has nabbed at least 7 people who violated the newly implemented laws that you also need to know.

LTO is a Philippine government agency under the Department of Transportation (DOT), which is the responsible for all land transportation in the country. This agency was implementing transportation laws, rules, and regulations, which have corresponding sanctions for violators.

Last week, at least 7 people who violated the recent laws implemented by the transportation agency has been arrested. The violators will be fined a smaller amount for first-time offenders and habitual violators might lose their driver’s license.

Republic Act (RA) 10913, or the Anti-Distracted Driving Act is one of the recently implemented laws prohibiting motorists from texting, calling, playing games, watching movies, surfing, browsing, and other usages of mobile phones while driving.

A multi-cab driver using a tablet on his dashboard while driving at the South Road Properties has been arrested for violating the Anti-Distracted Driving Act. He was charged a fine of P5, 000 as the first-time offender.

RA 10666, or the Children’s Safety on Motorcycles Act of 2015 prohibits motorist to let their child ride the vehicle without a helmet or failed to reach the driver’s waist and when the child’s feet could not touch the foot peg of the motorcycle.
