North Korea Launches Medium-Range Ballistic Missile ‘Pukguksong-2’

The North Korea fired the ballistic missile Pukguksong-2.

NORTH KOREA – Statements of North Korea and other governments state that the North Korea has made its second missile test.

Based on a recent news in CNN, citing KCNA’s report, the firing of the second ballistic missile of the North Korea was under the supervision of North Korean chief Kim Jong Un.

Reportedly, the Supreme leader and the officials were satisfied with the result of the missile testing. He even tagged it as “perfect”.

According to Japanese Defense Minister Tomomi, the preliminary data showed that the missile did not went above the 1,000 kilometers  and it struck the water at around 350 kilometers from the country’s east coast.

Meanwhile, based on the news report, the move of launching the second ballistic missile Pukguksong-2 was tagged by the South Korea as “reckless and irresponsible”.

In a statement, the South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said that “the repeated provocation is a reckless and irresponsible behavior, like pouring cold water on the wishes of our new government and the international community for denuclearization and peace to prevail in the Korean Peninsula.”

It claimed that the missile was fired from the place near the country’s Pukchang and it went about 500 kilometers.

The first missile test conducted last week was tagged by analysts as the most successful launching of the North in its pursuit to come up with ballistic missiles  that entails nuclear warheads.

According to the analysts, the recent test conducted by the North may yield data that can greatly help in achieving the country’s goal to come up with an ‘intercontinental ballistic missile’ which might alarm the United States.

Based on the news report, International Institute for Strategic Studies researcher Joseph Dempsey expressed on the social media that the second missile test was conducted from the same spot as the test that was conducted on February.
