A Judge in Cebu City granted the request of the camp of David Lim Jr.
DAVID LIM JR – The request of the camp of Cebu City road rage suspect David Lim Jr. to allow him to travel abroad together with his family has been granted.
The issue about the shooting incident in Cebu City last March 19, 2017 has not yet come to an end. In the present, the road rage suspect David Lim Jr. is faced with criminal charges in court for allegedly shooting a nurse in an incident.
Based on a previous news report, the said nurse that was allegedly shot by Lim is Ephraim Nuñal and his camp has recently opposed the request of the suspect to travel abroad together with his family.
Based on a recent news report in Cebu Daily News, a judge has granted the request of Lim to go on a weeklong cruise abroad together with his family.
“The crime charged against herein accused is not among those that affects the interest of the national security, or public health, wherein the right to travel could be impaired as provided under section 6, article 2 of the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines,” Judge Alexander Acosta said in his order.
According to the news report, the Cebu City Judge expressed that David Lim Jr. can go with his family abroad starting the 18th day of May until the 8th day of June.
It was the lawyers of Lim, Atty. Conrado Sarmiento Jr. and Atty. Gilbert Viloria, who previously requested the court to permit him to be with his family on a travel abroad.
According to them, the family of Lim has already booked a tour from Alaska, USA to Vancouver, Canada. They would travel from May 29 until June 2 and are set to be back in the Philippines on the 8th day of June.
Based on the news report, Lim is required to pay a bond of P300,000 before he can travel abroad. He is also tasked to submit a copy of his passport.
The accused is also ordered to appear to the court within three days after he’s back in the country. The arraignment of the case of Lim was set by the Cebu City Judge on the 16th day of June.
