Gina Lopez admits that she was submitted to a drug rehabilitation center before.
LOPEZ – Former Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Gina Lopez admitted that she was confined to a drug rehabilitation center before.
Based on a recent video posted by YouTube channel News5 Everywhere on the online platform, Gina admitted that she has been submitted to a drug rehab center before but not because of using illegal drugs.
According to her, she got involved in a socio-spiritual group named Anada Marga in Boston when she was just 18 years old. She said she stopped schooling and left their home to focus on her missionary work.
“This made my parent’s appropriately worried,” said Gina based on the report.
Furthermore, it has been reported that her parents decided to submit her under the care of Father Bob Garon who was the leader of the drug rehab facility.
The said priest affirmed the claim of the former DENR Secretary. In his statement, Fr. Garon said that he “personally handled” Gina’s case. He even shared that his finding revealed that she “had never taken drugs”.
The former Environment Secretary asserted that she does not use illegal drugs, drinks liquor, or smokes according to the report.
“It is stooping to very low levels,” Gina described the move of Sen. Lacson to raise the issue which she claimed had happened not less than 40 years ago.
Based on a previous news report, the issue hit the surface after Sen. Lacson expressed his reason for not supporting the appointment of former environment Sec. Lopez.
The Senator said that he did not intend to say it as it was too “personal” however he cannot accept the allegation that a “lobby money” has something to do with the decision of the panel of the Commission on Appointments (CA).
Sen. Lacson cited the allegation as the reason why he was forced to give an explanation for his no-vote to Gina’s appointment.
Reportedly, it was President Rodrigo Duterte who claimed that a ‘lobby money’ might have a role in the rejection of the appointment of the former environment Secretary.
