Several networks refused to air a Trump advertisement that entails the US President’s achievements.
TRUMP ADVERTISEMENT – The advertisement entailing the list of achievements of United States President Donald Trump in his first 100 days as the head of the country will not be aired by several networks.
The advertisement of US Pres. Trump will not be aired by CNN and the network has been joined by other networks such as the ABC, the CBS, and the NBC. The said ad features the achievement of the US leaders but along with it is a ‘fake news’ graphic.
Based on a recent news report in Inquirer, the said graphic is laid over the faces of certain media personalities. It is stated that it is the reason why the CNN, ABC, and NBC did not air the advertisement.
According to ABC network, the graphics signals a personal attack. The networks refuse to air the ad as it finds the graphic not accurate.
Based on the news report, the CBS network has not yet released its reason for refusing to air Trump’s advertisement but it will give its statement on Friday.
The daughter-in-law of the US leader has already expressed her side regarding the matter.
“Apparently, the mainstream media are champions of the First Amendment only when it serves their own political views,” said Lara Trump based on the news report. Lara is the consultant of Pres. Trump’s campaign.
In the said advertisement refused to be aired by several networks, some faces of journalists were posted.
The faces of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, CBS’ Scott Pelley, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell could be seen.
Based on the report, somebody who has an access to the documents that were allegedly handed over by Trump’s campaign to each network claimed that the documents contained the errors allegedly committed by their journalists.
However, the unnamed source did not discuss further details about it.
Pres. Donald Trump went out as the victor in the recent presidential election as he came ahead of Hillary Clinton. Nevertheless, based on a previous news report, Clinton urged her supporters to persevere under Pres. Trump’s administration.
Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law and campaign consultant, said in a statement Friday ”…. CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC have now all chosen to block our ad [which includes words “fake news”]. This is an unprecedented act of censorship in America that should concern every freedom-loving citizen.” CNN said that “The mainstream media is not fake news, and therefore the ad is false and per policy will be accepted only if that graphic [with “fake news attached] is deleted.” Here is the reason why CNN, ABC, CBC, and NBC are right rejecting that ad. Let’s suppose that an anti-Trump organization sends an ad to those major T.V networks with the following words: “President Trump is not mentally stable. We have to find a way to remove him from the White House as soon as possible.” I guess those networks will not agree to accept this ad. The rejection of this ad is not a case of “censoring free speech” but a recognition (by such networks) that such ad lacks validity because we do not have the clinical evidence to show that Mr. Trump “is not mentally stable.” Similarly, an ad that claims that “the mainstream media is fake news,” should be rejected for the same reason: it is also an invalid ad.
