Siliman University will refund the four years’ worth of school expenses of Alanna Gayle Khio, who landed as the 2nd placer in the November 2016 Bar exam.
The Siliman University graduate who gained 88.95 percent in the Bar examinations will also receive a cash reward of P200,000 from school alumni and a brand new car, according to dean of Silliman University’s College of Law, Shiela Lynn Besario.
Aside from Khio, two graduates of Siliman University also made it on the top 10. Marie Chielo Ybio and Andrew Liu, who placed 9th and 10th, respectively. They will receive P100,000 each.
According to a report published by ABS-CBN News, this is the first time that the school’s alumni gave rewards for the Bar topnotchers.
“The lawyers came to this office months ago, and they thought they could very well encourage the students to take law. I will be very happy to tell them that we have topnotchers this year,” the dean said.
She added that 14 out of 16 first-takers passed the Bar exam.
