Karen Mae Calam topped the November 2016 Bar Exam.

KAREN MAE CALAM – Bar examination taker Karen Mae Calam topped the November 2016 bar exam with a rate of 89.05 percent.

The Supreme Court has recently released the result of the bar exam which was conducted in November last year. Out of 6, 344 bar examinees, 3, 747 of them passed the licensure exam for professional lawyers.

Among the 3, 747 bar exam passers, Karen Mae Calam stood out as she garnered the highest score. Calam is a graduate of University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu.

Based in a recent news report in Sun Star Cebu, Calam was followed by Alanna Gayle Ashley Khio on the list. Khio, a graduate of Siliman University, has a passing rate of 88. 95 percent.

Another graduate of the USC, Fiona Cristy Lao, also made it to the bar topnotchers’ list. She and Athalia Liong of Andres Bonifacio College placed third on the ranking with a passing rate of 88.80 percent.

They were followed by: Allana Mae Babayen-on of University of San Agustin, Ateneo de Davao University’s Justin Ryan Morilla, Mark Dave Camarao of Northwestern University, and USC’s Anne Margaret Momongan and Jefferson Gomez.

Furthermore, University of Batangas’ Nia Rachelle Gonzales and Siliman University’s Marie Chielo Ybio and Andrew Stephen Liu are among those who garnered the top spots.

Based on a previous news report, the recently-conducted bar exam was given last 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th day of November 2016 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila.

It is the 115th bar exam. According to SC spokesperson Theodore Te, 3,317 new candidates and 3,514 retakers took the examination.

The bar examination result was released today, May 3. According to the report, Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr. heads the bar examination committee.
