Karen Mae Calam and Anne Margaret Momongan were among those who got the highest scores in the November 2016 bar exam.
CALAM – University of San Carlos’ Karen Mae Calam and Anne Margaret Momongan ranked 1st and 7th in the November 2016 bar examination.
A photo recently posted on the Facebook page Philippine Star showed the initial reaction of Calam and Momongan after they knew that they are among those who got the highest scores.

Based on a previous news report, Calam finished the bar exam with a score of 89.05 percent making her the topnotcher of the November 2016 licensure exam for lawyers and Momongan ranked 7th with a score of 87.80 percent.
The bar exam was conducted at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila during the four Sundays of November (6, 13, 20, and 27).

The spokesperson of the Supreme Court, Theodore Te, earlier said that 3, 514 of the bar examinees are retakers and 3,317 of them are new candidates.
The passing rate of the recently-conducted bar exam is 59.06 percent – higher than the expected rate.
