North Korea Missile Tests Gets Failed After Pyongyang’s Show Of Strength
North Korea missile tests failed when it blew up almost immediately right after it was launched on Sunday (April 16, 2017), U.S military says.
U.S military said that the missile tests conducted by the North Korea failed and likely seen as an embarrassment regarding the rising tensions between the United States and the nuclear weapons ambitions of North Korea.
The failed missile test came a day after Pyongyang publicly showed their strength through displaying their ballistic arsenal during a giant military parade. The missile launched by the North was being monitored the U.S Defence Department and South Korean military.
North Korea has displayed around 60 missiles, including the alleged new intercontinental ballistic missile, during the parade held to mark the 105th birthday of Kim II-Sung, the grandfather of Kim Jong-Un.
The Sunday’s test failure was detected during the parade while the world media were still in Pyongyang.
Previously, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has warned of the missile attack against any signs of U.S aggressions. U.S President Donald Trump also sets multiple sanctions to Pyongyang over its atomic and ballistic missile programs.
Trump also said that he will prevent Pyongyang from creating a nuclear-tipped ballistic missile aiming to reach the U.S mainland. The U.S president has already sent an aircraft carrier and navy strikes to the Korean peninsula.
The North’s failed missile test was confirmed by the U.S military. “US Pacific Command detected and tracked what we (–foul word(s) removed–)s was a North Korean missile launch at 11:21 am Hawaii time (2121 GMT) April 15,” said by U.S Navy Commander Dave Benham, a spokesman for the US Pacific command quoted by SBS.
Benham also said that the US Pacific Command was working closely with Japan and the Republic of Korea as their allies to maintain security.
U.S President Trump and its military were aware of North Korea’s failed missile launch, but he has no further comment regarding the incident, according to Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis in a statement.
