Fraternity hazing in Pototan, Iloilo City left students with fresh bruises.
FRATERNITY HAZING – A fraternity hazing which left some University students badly hurt happened in Barangay Fernando Parcon Ward, Pototan, Iloilo City.
Based on a recent post on the Facebook page of RMN Iloilo, the students who were members of the Triskelion Fraternity were left with fresh bruises. Three paddles that were allegedly used in the hazing were recovered.
According to the post, the students were not sent behind the bars but were only put on hold.
It is also stated that the members of the fraternity might face charges for violation of Anti-Hazing Law.
Here is the list of the initiators of the Triskelion De Visayas/Tau Gamma Phi based on the post:
- Master Initiator: 21-year-old Ian Jasper Jamotillo y Arias of Brgy. Batuan, Pototan, Iloilo City. He is a student of JBLCF Villa.
- Grand Triskelion: 23-year-old Christian Cordero y Panes of San Jose St., Pototan, Iloilo City. He is a student of CPU.
According to the post, the members of the fraternity include: 23-year-old Charles Paredes y Dosado of Guanco St., Pototan, Iloilo; 21-year-old Neil Simon y La(–foul word(s) removed–)o of Brgy. Amamaros, Pototan, Iloilo; 19-year-old John Rey Ponce y Bangalan of Brgy. Dawis, New Lucena, Iloilo; and 23-year-old Karl Dominic Salvilla y Apura of T. Magbanua St., Pototan, Iloilo.
A student of WVSU PC, 22-year-old Angelo Pastolero y Lago of Brgy. Tipolo, Mina, Iloilo is also on the list and as well as a St. Therese student, 20-year-old Andrew Dosado y Amar of Guanco St., Pototan, Iloilo.
The following are also members of the fraternity based on the post:
- Ron Arlie Lao y Bebedor, 19-year-old resident of Brgy. Batuan, Pototan, Iloilo City.
- Joseph Pelobello y Priagula, 24-year-old resident of Lopez jaena Ward, Pototan, Iloilo City.
- Nathaniel Gregory Pendon y Jamelarin, 23-year-old resident of Lopez jaena Ward, Pototan, Iloilo City.
- Mark Anthony Pusa y Moquite, 21-year-old resident of Ledesma Ward, Pototan, Iloilo City.
- Rigel Pertollano y Pedrola, 23-year-old resident of Jardin St., Pototan, Iloilo City.
- Dave Fuentes y Barros, 21-year-old resident of Jardin St., Pototan, Iloilo City.
Furthermore, based on the post, five neophytes were left with bruises by the fraternity hazing.
They are: 18-year-old Jone Deguzman y Robles of Brgy. Cau-ayan, Pototan, Iloilo; 22-year-old Rizaldy Pagulong y Perez of Lopez jaena St., Pototan, Iloilo; 26-year-old Eduardo Abido Jr y Palmes of Lopez jaena St., Pototan, Iloilo; 18-year-old Edimar Precia y Cabozan of Brgy. Cau-ayan,Pototan, Iloilo; and 22-year-old Kyle Lester Papellero of P. Ledesma St., Pototan, Iloilo.
It is stated in the post that the details are credited to Pototan Philippine National Police and the photos were taken by PO3 Mark Parreno of PNP Pototan.
The has already reached more than two hundred shares on the social media and lots of Facebook users expressed their disappointment over the incident via comments.
Meanwhile, there were also netizens who expressed in their comments that it is the choice of the students to join in the fraternity and that hazing is part of the tradition of the said group.
