Rappler’s Pia Rañada Robles Slammed By Thinking Pinoy Over Cebu Road Rage Suspect Article

Thinking Pinoy slams Pia Rañada Robles of Rappler over an article linking Cebu road rage suspect to Duterte’s aide Secretary Christopher Bong Go.

The popular blog site “Thinking Pinoy (TP)” criticized Pia Rañada Robles for alleged writing an article attempting to please its financers despite financial breakdown and about an article linking the Cebu road rage suspect David Lim Jr. to Duterte’s top aide.

Rañada’s article in Rappler was stating that David Lim Jr. nephew of the alleged Visayan drug lord Peter Lim was directly communicating Secretary Christopher Bong Go, a top aide of President Rodrigo Duterte to ensure the safety of the road rage suspect.

The article said that Lim’s mother has texted Go and asking to ensure the safety of David Jr. when he surrenders to the Cebu police. Go allegedly shared the text message for Lim’s mother, according to the Rappler’s article.

Here are some quotations from Rañada’s article in Rappler:

“Relatives of alleged Visayan drug lord Peter Lim were able to directly reach no less than President Rodrigo Duterte’s aide, Secretary Christopher “Bong” Go, to ensure the safety of one of their own: Lim’s nephew David Jr, suspect in a road rage incident in Cebu… Go himself shared a text message from David Jr’s mother asking him to ensure her son’s safety when he surrenders to Cebu police.”

RJ Nieto of TP said that Go just help the authorities to arrest Lim and did nothing wrong, it was just Pia who give malice to Go actions and accusing Duterte’s aide of conniving with the Lim family. If Go refuses to help arrest Lim, he might get murdered before the arrest, according to Nieto.

Nieto also slammed Rañada’s statement that lack of government action to arrest Lim raised the concern of Filipinos that Duterte administration targets only small time drug pushers and poor drug addicts. He also stressed out that Leila De Lima, Jaybee Sebastian, Herbert Colanggo, and Ronnie Dayan does not belong to the poor community.

Thinking Pinoy also accused Rappler of spewing fake news to cope with their massive financial losses due to lack of readers.
