BLIND FATHER – A social media post about a blind father who takes care of his daughter and son went viral on Facebook.
Based on a post on the Facebook page Matalinong Matsing, a concerned netizen sent the story of Reynaldo Cebuco to the admin of the page in the hope that somebody can help him and his kids.
Reynaldo is from Purok 7 Poblacion Sulop, Davao del Sur.  According to the post, he takes care of his two kids – an 11-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son after his wife left them when he lost his eyesight due to diabetes.
The two kids of the blind father were both grade 3 students in Sulop Elementary School according to the netizen. Reynaldo was a welder before as he has shared in an interview with the netizen.
It is also stated that they were just asking for alms so that they could buy some food.
The post circulated abruptly on the social media. It has already reached more than three thousand eight hundred shares on the online platform.
Lots of Facebook users also expressed their reactions to the post through comments.
According to a Facebook user, hopefully the government would help the three of them as their situation is really heartbreaking.
One netizen expressed in her comment that she feels pity for the kids most especially for the 8-year-old boy. According to her, her kid is at the same age with the youngest child of the blind man.
“Nsan Po ba si Kuya now nsa Davao Po ba dapat mkarating Kay mam Sarah Yan [Where is Reynaldo now in Davao? That should reach Mam Sarah,]” one netizen stated.
One netizen expressed through a comment her hope that the mother of the kids would realize to go back to her family.
Lots of netizens slammed the wife of Reynaldo in their comments for leaving him and his kids in that situation.
It is really heartbreaking to see situations like this – a father who struggles from his condition aside from being left behind by his wife and two young kids who have to help in looking for some money to be able to buy their food.
The strength of the blind man and his great love for his kids are really evident as despite his condition, he never left his children on their own.
