According to the news report, the statement of the PNP Chief that he is not being micromanaged by the President is a reaction to the report of the Senate regarding the death of the mayor of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr.

The PNP Chief said that Pres. Duterte is a “hands on leader” but he knows what PNP Chief Bato is going to do.

“‘Pag may nagtatanong sa kanya, sinasabi niya na, ‘Bahala na si Bato diyan.’ O kaya sa akin sinasabi niya na, ‘Bahala ka na mag-decide, alam mo na ‘yan,'” the PNP Chief said based on the report.

[When he is asked, he would say, ‘It’s up to Bato.’ Or he would tell me, ‘It’s up to you to decide, you already known that.’]
