Detained Sen. De Lima expresses message for Pres. Duterte.
DETAINED – Sen. Leila De Lima who is currently detained in Camp Crame posted her message for Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the spokespersons of the Philippine National Police.
Despite being currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center, Sen. De Lima continues to speak about certain issues going on in the country. Based on a recent news report in Inquirer, the neophyte lawmaker took to the social media a handwritten statement for Pres. Duterte and the PNP spokespersons.
According to the news report, Sen. De Lima addressed her handwritten statement to the President, the spokespersons of the PNP, and “other presidential defenders” who put down the allegation that the drug killings are sponsored by the government.
In her statement, the Senator expressed that Pres. Duterte and those people who “blindly enforce” the orders to take away others’ lives, those who fakes the proof, and those who “concoct lies” will be held liable for their actions.
“STOP INSULTING OUR INTELLIGENCE, STOP FOOLING OUR PEOPLE AND THE REST OF THE WORLD,” the lady Senator stated based on the news report.
Sen. De Lima is one of the staunch critics of the 71-year-old President’s war on drugs campaign. Reportedly, she has even received an international award for standing up against Pres. Duterte.
Meanwhile, the lady Senator’s name is on the President’s list of government officials who are suspected drug protectors.
Sen. De Lima is currently detained now in Camp Crame after the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 has issued warrants of arrest against her, Ronnie Dayan, and Rafael Ragos.
Dayan is the alleged “bagman” of the lady Senator who is currently facing allegations of involvement in the supposed drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) during her term as the Department of Justice secretary.
Based on a previous news report, PNP Chief Director Gen. Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa had already visited the Senator in her detention cell at the PNP Custodial Center and assured her of her safety while being detained there.
The PNP Chief even told the media that the lady Senator is relaxed in her detainment cell and that Sen. De Lima has welcomed him.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Kung security ang problema mo Ma’am, safe na safe ka dito’ [I told her, ‘If security is your problem Ma’am, you are very safe here’],” PNP Chief dela Rosa told the reporters according to the report.
