Sen. Leila De Lima has surrendered herself to the CIDG team.
LEILA – After the Muntinlupa Court has issued a warrant of arrest against Sen. Leila De Lima yesterday, the neophyte lawmaker has surrendered herself to the authorities this morning.
Based on a recent news report in Inquirer, Sen. De Lima already went out from her office in the Senate and surrendered herself to the authorities who are set to serve the warrant of arrest issued by Muntinlupa RTC Branch 204 against her yesterday.
According to the news report, it was the Sergeant-At-Arms of the Senate, Jose Balajadia, who escorted the neophyte Senator to the arresting team led by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Director Chief Supt. Roel Obusan.
Reportedly, the lady Senator was brought to the headquarters of the Philippine National Police, Camp Crame, where she will be temporarily detained while the commitment order of the Court is still being awaited.
Based in a previous news report, the Muntinlupa Court has issued arrest warrants against the lady Senator, her former bodyguard Ronnie Dayan, and Rafael Argos.
Dayan is the former bodyguard and lover of the lady Senator. Moreover, he is also the alleged ‘bagman’ of the Senator who is now facing allegations of involvement in the drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison when she was still the Department of Justice Secretary.
