Duterte Not Listed As Guest Of Honor In 31st Edsa Anniversary Program

Pres. Duterte’s name is not listed in the program for the 31st Edsa Anniversary.

DUTERTE – Philippine Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is not listed as the guest of honor in the program for the 31st Anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.

The commemoration of the Edsa People Power Revolution is fast approaching. News reports regarding the preparation have also started to break in.

Recently, based on a report in Inquirer, the President is not listed on the program of the 31st Edsa Anniversary which was released to the media. It was Executive Sec. Salvador Medialdea who was listed as the event’s guest of honor.

According to the report, Deputy Executive Sec. Menardo Guevarra said that it was supposedly either Pres. Duterte or Executive Sec. Medialdea who will give the keynote speech in the event.

It will be held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City according to the Deputy Executive Secretary.

The event which is the first Edsa commemoration under the Duterte Administration is led by the Malacañang Palace.

Meanwhile, according to the news report, the 71-year-old Chief Executive is set to be in Davao City on Friday to lead the launching of the revival of the implementation of Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro in the said City.

Pres. Duterte is the victor of the 2016 presidential election. Since the election campaign, he has been known as a staunch critic of illegal drugs and he even vowed to clean the country within three to six months if he assumes the post.

Right after he took the highest position in the country, the 71-year-old Chief Executive has started his campaign against illegal drugs.

Based on a previous news report, he expressed that there is no stepping back from the fight against illegal drugs despite a thick pile of papers containing the names of drug suspects.
