For Kim, the citizen’s lack of love for the country is the problem. Kim narrated the story how the South Korea envies the Philippines for being a rich country. South Korea was greatly affected by the Korean War that the country has to ‘start from scratch’ before according to Kim.

Kim admitted that the Philippines used to be the topic of the South Koreans as its people are well-off. South Korea has no natural resources according to Kim.

Kim also stated in the message that lots of South Koreans lost their lives due to famines. However, despite that the government of South Korea still corrupt their country, the people has strived for the ‘common good’ according to the South Korean.

Kim emphasized that the motivation of the South Koreans in working was not just centered for themselves but for the whole of their country and its people.

The South Korean also narrated in his message that during that time, the country has only three factories and the other countries won’t lend money to their country considering its economy.

According to Kim, what happened was that in order to have money for the construction of the factories, their President sent lots of nurses and workers in mining for Germany.

The South Korean also shared an event in the history of their country. According to Kim, in 1964, several Koreans who were working in Germany welcomed President Park at the airport when the President came to the country to borrow some money.

The President was teary as he responded to the crying South Koreans who asked him if when can they be ‘well off’. President Park vowed to them that their country will progress if they toil hard for it – that event really marked on the President of Germany who decided to lend Korea money.

Kim then continued narrating how the South Korea has started to progress. In the later part of the message, it is stated that the New Bilibid Prison is one of the places that the South Korean has gone to.

Kim expressed in the message that the prisoners do not love the country as two prisoners have shared that they wanted to start again a new life away from the Philippines if they will be released.

“The Philippines is the most “religious” country in Asia, they say. But there are too many poor people here. People go to church every Sunday to pray, but nothing has been changed,” Kim also stated.

“My mother who has been working for a church since I was very young told me that if we just go to church without changing ourselves, we are not Christians indeed. Faith should come with action,” the South Korean further added.

The South Korean emphasized in the message that ‘love is the keyword’ and it must start from everyone.

“If you have a child, teach them how to love the Philippines. Teach them why they have to love their neighborhood and country. That’s all I really want to ask you Filipinos,” Kim ended the message.
