Duterte Says Opening Remarks Of A Book Is About A Bishop Having Two Wives

Pres. Duterte shared about what he read from a book.

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte unexpectedly shared about what he read from a book entitled ‘Altar of Secrets’.

Undeniably, the relationship of the Church with Pres. Duterte has been challenged several times in the past. Based on a previous news report, Monsignor Pedro Quitorio III has even tagged it as a ‘critical collaboration’.

Reportedly, there was a time when the President uttered a curse after he found out that the streets were closed for a holy visitor’s visit way back when he was still mayor of Davao City. The closing of the street caused him to be stuck in the middle of traffic for five hours.

Recently, a news video report of ABS-CBN broke in entailing the content of the message of the Chief Executive in front of the families of the 44 Special Action Force (SAF) cops who died in the Mamasapano operation in 2015 on Tuesday.

Based on the news report, it did not take so long before the President started to burst out his anger towards the Catholic Church.

The President, who has uttered a curse around eleven times based on the report, shared about what he read from a book entitled ‘Altar of Secrets’. He reiterated one by one the scandalous incidents wherein the Church has been involved.

Furthermore, based on the video report, the President said that the opening remarks of the book was about Bishop Bacani who has two wives and he even compared the bishop as like him who has two wives.

“Parang mayor rin ang buang [The fool is like a mayor too],” said Pres. Duterte.

Meanwhile, the Bishop challenged the President for his allegation against him. In an interview with Radio Veritas, Bishop Bacani challenged Pres. Duterte to produce at least one wife and he will give him five million pesos.

Furthermore, he said that if the President can produce even just one, he would give him money eventhough he would have to loan for it.

“Wag naman niyang lalabanan ang katotohanan sa pamamagitan ng kasinungalingan [He should not fight against the truth by lies],” said Bishop Bacani.

The Bishop also stressed that Pres. Duterte is a president and not just an ordinary person who gossips.

Based on the report, the anger of Pres. Duterte towards the Bishop started when Bishop Bacani questioned about the increasing number of those who are dying in the war on drugs campaign of the government.
