Potential Accident Could Possibly Happen Along Marcos Highway Due To Over Speeding Jeepney Slipped On A Wet Road
An over speeding jeepney vehicle suddenly slipped on a wet, slippery road in Marcos Highway East, which might cause a huge potential accident.
Jeepney is the national vehicle of the Philippines and it has been already a part of the Filipino culture and tradition. It is also the most popular public vehicle for transportation purposes and it has been an iconic symbol in the country for decades.
Previously, a plan of phasing out jeepney vehicles on the roads have been planned by different sectors. Those sectors explained that this vehicle is one of the causes of traffic jam in Metro Manila and they believe that replacing it with an alternative could reduce the traffic problems in the country.
Passenger jeepneys, which are only exposed in the country for 15 years was planning to phase out by Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) last 2015. Phasing out 15-year-old and above public vehicles such as buses and jeepneys, was announced by DOTC, last 2016.
There is already numerous case of jeepney accident happened in the Philippine and passenger’s safety is the main reason of phasing out the iconic vehicle, according to Chairman Winston Ginez.
On Monday (January 23, 2017), a video show a huge potential accident could happen when an over speeding jeepney skidded on a wet road due to rain along Marcos Highway, near the LRT2 Santolan station. Good thing there were no jeepney passengers were hurt or injured in the incident.

The video earned more than 168k view, 1k reactions, 440 shares, and 72 comments as of Tuesday (January 24, 2017). Netizens slammed the jeepney driver for reckless and irresponsible driving on the road.
