DE LIMA – Sen. Leila De Lima wants the Cabinet to consider declaring Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte as unfit to perform the presidential duties.

After the 71-year-old President’s tirades against the Anti-Money Laundering Council and the United Nations chief for human rights, Sen. De Lima called on the Cabinet to declare him as ‘unfit’ for the duties of his position according to a recent news report in Inquirer.

It was on Thursday when the chief executive tagged an intense remark to UN human rights chief Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein.

The Human Rights chief has urged the authorities in the Philippines to investigate the 71-year-old President after he admitted that when he was still mayor of Davao City, he has taken the lives of at least three suspects for crimes.

Also on the same day, the officials of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the AMLC were accused by the President of inefficiency and corruption as they failed to submit a report to his office.

Sen. De Lima, in a statement, cited the effect of the President’s use of fentanyl, a powerful painkiller, based on the report.

The lady senator expressed that the President’s remarks are already ‘fentanyl-induced’. She further added that Pres. Duterte cannot anymore be considered to be in a state of mind that is normal.

She threw a quest on who could give an explanation regarding the ‘outrageous’ remarks of the 71-year-old chief executive against the UN human rights commissioner and the officials of BSP.

“The Cabinet should seriously consider declaring him unfit to perform the duties of the President and relay such opinion to Congress, in order to save this nation once and for all from the ramblings of a madman,” the lady senator said according to the report.

Sen. De Lima is one of the staunch critics of Pres. Duterte. The two have thrown intense statements against each other in the previous months.

Based in a previous news report, it is stated that Sen. De Lima is on Pres. Duterte’s list of government officials who are alleged drug protectors.

Reportedly, it was Pres. Duterte who publicized the allegation about the lady senator’s affair with her former driver-bodyguard, Ronnie Dayan.

It took quite a while before Sen. De Lima admitted that she had a romantic affair before with Dayan. Dayan is also the alleged ‘bagman’ of the senator who is now currently facing allegations of involvement in the illegal drug trade inside the national penitentiary when she was the secretary of the Department of Justice.
