Appointment of 3 Cabinet, Envoy to UN, 21 DFA Officers Approved

Commission on Appointments gave confirmation to the appointment of the three Cabinet members, Philippine envoy to United Nations, and 21 other officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The powerful Commission on Appointments confirmed the ad-interim appointment of three Cabinet secretaries and 21 foreign service officers under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

This was done on Tuesday, along with the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations, the lawyer-journalist and former Makati congressman Teodoro L. Locsin Jr.

On the other hand, the Commission on Appointments have deferred the confirmation of the ad-interim appointment of Manny Pinol, who is former Lanao Del Sur Governor, as secretary of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Despite of this, the CA confirmed the appointment of Secretaries Ismael Dres Sueno for the Department of the Interior and Local Government; Arturo Tugade for Department of Transportation and Mark Villar for Department of Public Works and Highways.

Aside from Locsin Jr., 21 career officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), also got the CA’s nod at its last session for the year:
