DUTERTE – The Statement of Contribution and Expenditures of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte revealed his 13 biggest donors during the 2016 election campaign.
Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is one of the Presidents in the history of the Philippines who has already made a mark as early as the start of the election campaign. Undeniably, a big part of the populace wanted the then mayor of Davao City to run for the presidential post.
He assumed the highest position in the country after a landslide victory in the 2016 national election. He then started completing his Cabinets and as well as began with his campaign against drugs.
Aside from his projects and eyed ‘change’ in the country, the 71-year-old President has also filed his Statement of Contribution and Expenditures or more commonly known as SOCE soon after he secured the post.
Based on a previous news report, the SOCE of the President showed that there were wealthy personalities who have funded his campaign for the presidential post. Furthermore, it even noted that only 0.046% of it came from donors who gave P10,000 and below.
The report emphasized that Pres. Duterte has 13 top or biggest donors who have contributed more than P334-million of his total campaign fund. A recent news report in ABS-CBN News entailed the names of the 13 biggest donors of President Duterte based in his SOCE.
According to the report, the Representative of Davao del Norte, Antonio ‘Tony Boy’ R. Floirendo Jr., gave Pres. Duterte P75,000,000.00 for the election campaign. Floirendo is the President’s top donor.
The report also emphasized that one of the biggest businessmen in Davao City, Samuel C. Uy, donated P30,000,000.00 to the then mayor of Davao City. However, after the 2016 election, Uy has not stayed in Davao according to the report.
