KIRBY – State Department spokesman John Kirby and White House Deputy Press Sec. Eric Schultz spoke on the relationship status between Philippines and United States.
Recently, several factors have put the Philippines-United States alliance on challenged mode. These factors include the tirades thrown by Philippine Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte in response to the expression of concern of US over the alleged extrajudicial killings in the country.
Another factor was the vocal expression of dislike of the Philippine President on the joint military training of the US and Filipino troops through war games.
These are just few of the factors that made the issue of shifting of Philippines’ alliance arise on the surface. It has put a big question mark on the relationship status between the two countries that have been allies for years.
