Human Barricade Formed By Vendors To Protest Clearing Operation
Human barricade formed by vendors from Metro Manila Vendors Association (MMVA) in Philcoa area in Quezon City to protest the clearing operations.
Vendors in Quezon City was instructed by Sangguniang Panlunsod to vacate their selling area on Thursday (September 08, 2016). But the vendors disagree what the agency wants to implement because their livelihood will be affected by this operation.
The coordinator of MMVA, Flor Santos said that the vendors were asked to leave their area but the vendors disagreed and as a response, they build a human barricade to protest on the clearing operations.
Vendors have the rights to build their temporary vending sites in the area it is guaranteed by Market Code according to MMVA. The vendors said that they are paying fees for the rental of the used location and also they have permits.
