President Duterte Orders Only Covered The Appointees of Aquino to Quit
President Duterte orders only covered the appointees of former President Benigno Aquino III will quit. On Monday (August 22, 2016) according to the presidential spokesman Secretary Ernesto Abella only those appointees under the Aquino administration are covered by Duterte’s order to quit.
In Malacañang press briefing, Abella said that the present appointees in the administration under President Rodrigo Duterte are not included in his order but the appointees from the past administration are the members that covered by the order to quit.
He also said that those appointees will be still reviewed such as the heads of the agencies that have remaining terms. On Sunday morning (August 21, 2016) in the news briefing of President Rodrigo announced that all presidential appointees should vacate their posts, it is clarified that appointees during Duterte’s term are not required to vacate their positions.
The president said that he can still hear corruption committed by his people until now in his visitation in some provinces. Especially in the regulatory agencies corruption is a problem that was difficult to solve.
