Senate Proposed to Grant Emergency Powers to President Duterte
Senate committee proposed to grant emergency power to the president to resolve the problem regarding the traffic in our country.
Committee Chairperson Senator Grace Poe said that it’s time to grant the president to have emergency power to put an end to the motorists and commuters suffering in everyday because of unbearable traffic in our country.
The senator said that they must be innovative when it comes in solving problems in the Philippines. Extraordinary problems require also extraordinary solutions. She said that Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) inform the lawmakers to give the president special powers.
“Before we give emergency powers, we need to know first if he had already a plan for the situation” she added. To resolve the country’s problems regarding traffic Duterte asked the congress if they can grant him at least 2 years of emergency powers to address the problem.
