Sen. Cayetano: Pres. Duterte Studies Proposals of P50,000 Salary for PO1

The incoming president of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte is now studying a proposal to increase the salary of policemen with a rank of Police Officer 1 (PO1). Police Officers will be having a P50,000 Salary per month as revealed by the losing vice presidential bet, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano in an interview with media.

pnp hiring rookie copsAccording to Sen. Cayetano during the sidelines of the launch of a coffee table book of the Philippine National Police Academy at Abreeza Mall. He was quoted as saying “Bale and makukuha nila ay P50,000, kasama na ang base pay at tsaka allowance,” Cayetano stated.

Sen. Cayetano also noted that although the P50,000 salary increas for Police Officers are indeed doable, the plans and proposals of Pres. Duterte still needs the support of the Congress which is now under a so-called “super majority,” supporting the legislative agenda of Mayor Rody Duterte.

The team of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano which also includes Pres. Rody Duterte’s closest aide, Bong Go, has already submitted the proposal to Duterte and his appointed PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa “so they can take a look at the numbers.” According to Cayetano the next stop of the salary increase proposals for PNP will be to the Department of Budget and Management.

President-elect Rodrigo “Roa” Duterte repeatedly vowed during the campaign period to double the salary of policemen to boost their morale and so that they will not engage in any corrupt activities because under his administration he wants to clean up the ranks of the Philippine National Police in every parts of the country.
