Final List of 12 Senator proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday.
The final list of 12 senators were released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers.
Senate President Franklin Drilon garnered the highest number of votes with 18, 607,391. This is according to the last canvass report released by the Comelec.
The Senate President is followed by the former Technical and Education Skills and Development Authority chief Joel Villanueva with 18,459,222 votes. The former TESDA chief has been surprised of the result.
Landing third is Reelectionist Sen. Vicente Sotto III who earned 17,200,371 total of votes. With a total of 16,926,152 votes, Panfilo Lacson is making a comeback to the Senate.
The chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, former senator Richard Gordon make it to the fifth with 16,719,322, followed by former senator Juan Miguel Zubiri with 16,119,165 total of votes.
On the other hand, the most talked about, boxing champion and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao landed in the seventh place with 16,050,546 votes. Another comeback in the senate, former senator Francis Pangilinan made it to the eighth with 15,955,949 votes.
After two previous unsuccessful runs, Risa Hontiveros on the third try, secured the ninth spot garnering 15,915,213 votes. Valenzuela City Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian got 14,953,768 votes making it to the tenth spot.
Reelectionist Sen. Ralph Recto garnered 14,271,868 total of votes and making the final 12, is former justice secretary Leila de Lima with 14,144,070 votes.
Andres Bautista, the chairman of the Comelec said that the poll body as NBOC, decided to proclaim the winners even they have 1,211 votes that are not yet received because the difference between the number of votes garnered by the 12th and 13th senatorial candidate is 1,332,972, will not affect the results.
