Gibo Teodoro to Join Pres. Duterte’s Cabinet

The camp of the Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte confirmed to the media that former presidential aspirant Gibo Teodoro, who also served as Defense Secretary under the Arroyo administration will return to national limelight as he was invited to join President Rody Duterte’s Cabinet once Mayor Duterte assumed his office as the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Mayor Duterte’s spokesperson Peter Laviña said that Mayor Duterte already talked with the former Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro but the spokesman refused to reveal further the details of the meeting. He did not confirm also the possible position to be given to the former Cabinet member of Pres. Arroyo.

During previous interviews with the media, the Davao City mayor noted that he was impressed with Gibo Teodoro’s commitment with his service to the Filipino people. Aside from being a Bar Topnotcher, Gibo Teodoro is also a certified pilot and he is the cousin of outgoing President Noynoy Aquino.

Aside from the former Defense Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro, the other names who could be appointed by Mayor Duterte to form his Cabinet Family were former Sec. Jess Dureza as Presidential Peace Adviser, Former Agriculture Sec. Sonny Dominguez, businessman Tomas Alcantara, former AFP Chief of Staff Hermogenes Esperon and the priest-turned-rebel then politician Leoncio Evasco Jr., the campaign manager of Mayor Rody Duterte.

Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano was also eyed by Mayor Duterte to be his Foreign Affairs Secretary but he should wait for one year and he is also a member of the Philippine Senate. veteran lawyer Vitaliano Aguirre was also eyed by the camp of Mayor Duterte to be his Justice Secretary.

  2. I voted for him during his presidential election stint. A straight man and a very good performer, though a cousin to Pnoy, he was never a part of the latter’ cabinet. That was an advantage to Gibo, if he had joined Pnoy’s team, his reputation may had been tainted.
