Rep. Leni Robredo Overtakes Bongbong Marcos In Partial And Unofficial Votes

The Liberal Party Vice-Presidential candidate and current Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo now leads and overtakes Sen. Bongbong Marcos in the partial and unofficial election results as of 9:30a.m., Tuesday.

According to the partial and unofficial count as of 9:30 AM, May 10, 2016, showing the 90.22% of the Nationwide Election returns, Robredo now has 13,286,907 and Marcos now has 13,144,856 votes. It has a difference of 142,051.

Minutes before the update of the results, Robredo said on Twitter that votes are starting to come from her bailiwicks, Bicol, Iloilo, and ARMM.

Leni Robredo even said earlier that according to the own quick count of her camps, she is confident winning the elections.

“Hindi sa pinangungunahan natin ang ating mga institusyon, ngunit may sarili po tayong operation quick count at nakikita natin na sa dakong huli tayo ang mananaig,” she said on ABS-CBN.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman of Marcos named Jonathan de la Cruz reacted to the sudden change of the unofficial counts.

“Nagtataka kami kung saan nanggagaling ang mga boto na ito, at ano ang basehan ng mga boto,” de la Cruz explained on GMA News.

The numbers of the votes of the two vice-presidential candidates were just are really close making it worth watching.

Earlier, Marcos even expressed that he is anticipating a win but will still have a close monitoring of the developments.

“I am feeling that by all indications, we should be successful today. We will continue to monitor and closely watch the developments,” Marcos said.
